World Match Play at Wentworth

This year's HSBC World Match Play Championship will take place between 15-18th September 2005 at the Wentworth Club, Surrey, England.

The field will include 16 golfers, who will have qualified through the HSBC Major Championships Ranking, HSBC European Rankings and the European Order of Merit. Sadly, the world's top four - Tiger Woods, Vijay Singh, Phil Mickelson and Ernie Els as well as Sergio Garcia withdrew from the event. Luckily for Bernhard Langer, who stepped in as one of the replacements, he will face Luke Donald (seeded No. 3) in the first round. See the full schedule for the first day here, the leaderboard will be shown here.

Ernie Els had to stay away from the event due to a knee surgery, but he gives you his view of the Match Play in this interview for BBC.
