Opening Golf Resort Berlin Pankow

Today was not only election day but also the opening of the Golf Resort Berlin Pankow:
President Dr. Umhau gives the opening speech.

German soccer legend Sepp Maier plays the golden ball.

The Golf Resort Berlin Pankow is the third golf course within Berlin after Gatow and Wannsee. It features an 18 hole course - named after Sepp Maier - as well as an 9 hole short course. The layout of the courses isn't difficult, it's design makes it easy to play. Not many water hazards, all obstacles are clearly visible and there aren't many blind shots to play. What might be a task also for the ambitious golfer is the 593m par 5 seventh hole of the course. As a normal player you should settle with the thought to make the green with your third or fourth shot.

There still remains some work to be done on the premises, the club house and the other buildings need to be finished as well as the signs need to be put on the course. A positive thing are the low green fees. You'll play the 18 hole course for €30 weekdays as well as weekends, there is no range fee and your 60 min golf lesson with Pro Rudi Hielscher comes for an affordable €36. But the best thing is: it only takes me 15 minutes from my home to get there.
